Flatdogs Camp

Flatdogs Camp is an exceptional, yet affordable, safari camp right next to the world renowned South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. The Crocodile Nest is a private two bed-roomed tented house with its own private pool, looking onto the Luangwa river, which comes with private vehicle and guide for a la carte safaris. The Jackalberry Treehouse is just as private and has been designed with nature in mind – totally open to the African bush and embracing four beautiful live Ebony trees. Both of these private “houses” suit people who would now like to be “away from other guests” in their own secure and private environment. Our two bed-roomed chalet houses suit families perfectly and our traditional safari tents are set in prime positions along the riverbank, with all you need for that perfect “Africa under canvas” experience – elephant browsing on the trees right above you and the hippo grazing just outside. Awake to the dawn chorus!
The food at Flatdogs is renowned in the safari world as the camp has an excellent a la carte restaurant serving a wide range of meals all through the day. This allows guests to come and eat or have their meals delivered (private houses only) when it suits them. The delicious range of options caters to all tastes and dietary requirements. There are separate gluten-free and vegan menus available.
Safaris from Flatdogs Camp are led by expert guides who have studied all facets of the natural world they live and work in. Our guides have to pass some of the most difficult examinations in the safari world before they can guide in the South Luangwa and safety of both the animals and guests is paramount. The South Luangwa National Park is one of the few undisturbed natural wilderness areas left in Africa and one of the best Parks to view leopard.
