• Sungani Lodge and Kulandila Camp are two new family-owned and operated luxury safari properties opening in May 2022 in the remote South Luangwa National Park. Both properties have been created and hand-built by the family and local people, transforming this remote area from a state of neglect into something quite extraordinary. The inclusive transfer to the properties is a short 20-minute flight from Mfuwe in the Sungani aircraft.  Sungani Lodge overlooks an enormous lagoon. Carefully curated interiors showcase a love of raw materials, classic lines, and longevity. The entire lodge is built on elevated decking including the dining area, cosy bar, and lounge. The lodge is intimate with just seven individually designed air-conditioned guest tents with deck and private plunge pools.  Kulandila Camp is further upstream and overlooks the Luangwa River. This intimate camp comprises four elevated tents furnished with a combination of gorgeous white linen, teak, brass, and textures to create a colonial feel. The outdoor slipper bath is a real highlight!
