Ethiopia is at peace, with locations like Lalibela and the Simiens open again.  Tourism is rebounding! The truce signed between the government and the TPLF in November last year has endured as a lasting peace – and as a result tourism has rebounded strongly with many returning to visit the Omo Valley, Bale Mountains and even Lalibela, Gondar and the Simien Mountains on the northern circuit.

Book a meeting with Victoria Troskie at  Wild Expeditions Africa for an update on Lale’s Camp  – an idyllic and ultra-remote encampment of seven comfortable en-suite Meru tents on the banks of the Omo River, co-founded more than two decades ago by the legendary guide Lale Birwa. Wild Expeditions is a pioneering collective of owner-run safari camps and expeditions operating in remote parts of Africa.
