Reteti Elephant Sanctuary

Guests staying at Sarara (Sara Camp or Treehouses) and Reteti House now have access to an exclusive extended up-close time with the elephants at the community run Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, in an unforgettable, private setting.

After watching the elephants feed, and getting a behind the scenes tour, guests will walk out into the bush with their guide and a Reteti keeper, with the elephants following them to a secluded area. There, a special bush breakfast or lunch will be set up enabling visitors to enjoy a meal surrounded by the herd. The experience allows guests to have more time with the elephants – to see how they interact with each other, and how their keepers prepare them to be released back into Namunyak’s wilderness.
