REIMAGINED CHICHELE PRESIDENTIAL

Chichele Presidential suites
Chichele Presidential, an iconic safari lodge in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, is set to reopen in April 2025 following a complete transformation. Originally built in the 1970s as a private retreat for Zambia’s first president, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, Chichele has been reimagined through a collaboration between the lodge owners, Fox Browne Creative Design, Jack Alexander Studio and Chiawa Safaris.
Perched on a hilltop overlooking the wildlife-rich floodplains, Chichele Presidential now features ten luxurious Vista Suites designed to blend elegance with nature. Guests can expect world-class safari experiences, expert local guides, and unparalleled wildlife viewing, including the park’s renowned leopards. The lodge offers family-friendly accommodations, with two sets of interconnecting suites featuring private lounges and dining areas. A dedicated Chichele Cubs program ensures younger guests engage in fun, educational activities focused on conservation.
Sustainability is at the heart of Chichele’s transformation, with the use of recycled materials, energy-efficient systems, and clean hydropower. Locally sourced stone, timber, and glass have been used in the lodge’s construction, while the interior design reflects the natural hues of South Luangwa’s landscapes. Wellness facilities include an 18.5m rim-flow pool, a tranquil yoga deck, and a state-of-the-art gym, ensuring relaxation alongside adventure.
Dining at Chichele is an indulgent experience, with menus crafted using fresh, organic ingredients from Zambia’s Eden Organics. Guests can enjoy everything from traditional boma barbecues and wood-fired pizzas to elegant lawn dinners under the stars.
With the grand reopening fast approaching, Chichele’s management team, Julius Schuld and Dominique Gaines-Schuld, are finalizing staff training, preparing vehicles for game drives, and ensuring every detail is meticulously polished
Soft opening rates are available for April and May 2025, starting at $660 per adult per night. Guests can reach Chichele via a flight to Mfuwe Airport, followed by a scenic 90-minute drive through the park, offering wildlife encounters before even arriving at the lodge.
